Budgam police arrest 02 notorious drug peddlers, contraband substances seized
Police have continued their action against drug dealings in Budgam & have arrested two notorious drug peddlers at two checkpoints and recovered contraband substances from their possession. Officers at a checkpoint established near Degree College Khansahab arrested one notorious drug peddler identified as Abdul Rashid Bhat resident of Parnewa Khansahab. Contraband substance 1.2 Kg powdered Cannabis and 50gms Cannabis has been recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to Police Station Khansahab where he remains in custody. Case FIR No. 198/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and initiated investigations in the matter. Separately at another checkpoint established Yarisatroo, officers arrested a notorious drug peddler identified as Shabir Ahmad Bhat resident of Yarisatroo Khansahab. Contraband substance ‘Poppy Straw’ weighing 15Kgs was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to Police Station Khansahab where he remains in custody. Case FIR No. 200/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and initiated investigation in the matter. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of the drug menace

Srinagar Police arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered 9 Kilograms of Charas
In its continuous offensive against the menace of drug abuse under the command of SSP Srinagar Dr. M. Haseeb Mughal-JKPS, the Srinagar police continue its war against drugs. On 20.12.2019 during Naka checking at international crossing Sonwar, Police party of Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh apprehended two suspicious persons namely Uzair Shafi and Nadeem Shafi both sons of Mohd Shafi Bhat R/o Khalpora, Kantbagh, Chadoora Budgam from whom some charas was recovered and later, on their disclosures a party led by SDPO Nehru Park Ms. P.D. Nitya-IPS along with SHO R.M.Bagh Inspector Shri Mohd Issac raided the residence of accused persons maternal grand mother's house and recovered 9 Kg of charas from the premises in Shivpora area, where they were temporarily putting up. Accordingly Case FIR No. 99/19 U/S 8/20 NDPS stands registered in Police Station R.M.Bagh and investigation set in motion. These arrests and recovery are a big success for the Srinagar Police in the war against drug peddling in the Srinagar City. This is in continuation to the efforts of Srinagar Police to fight against the menace of Drug Abuse and Drug Peddling. This effort is hugely hailed by the general masses. Kupwara Police attaches property of a notorious drug peddler
Police in Kupwara successfully implemented the property attachment orders against a notorious drug peddler from the area. Kupwara Police obtained the orders from the Hon’ble High Court for the attachment of property both movable and immovable including a residential house located at Village Amrohi Tehsil Karnah, Vehicle Alto K10 bearing Registration No: JK09B- 3813 and 07 Marlas of land located at District Budgam in case FIR No 02/2019 registered under section 8/21 NDPS Act at PS Kralpora. The properties belong to the notorious drug peddler Mohd Saleem son of Alif-ud-Din Sheikh resident of Amrohi, Karnah and he is the main accused in this case. Saleem belongs to the border village Amrohi in Karnah and has been repeatedly indulging in cross-border smuggling of drugs. He managed to escape when his 04 accomplices were arrested by Police in the Chowkibal area of Kupwara on 30-01-2019 along with 19 Kgs of Heroin. The execution of orders for attachment of House at Karnah and Vehicle has been made. Moreover, the execution of an order for the attachment of a plot of land located at Budgam is being implemented. Community members have appreciated the police action against the drug dealings in the area. Community members are requested to cooperate with the police in curbing social crimes in their neighborhoods. Community members can share information about social crimes with the police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.

Srinagar Police arrests drug peddler, contraband substance recovered.
In its recent action against drug dealings in Srinagar arrested a drug peddler at a checkpoint and sized contraband substances from his possession. One person identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar resident of Lidermud Pulwama has been arrested, in this regard from his possession 1.9 Kgs of Charas was recovered. A case FIR No. 61/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police station Rainawari and Investigation have been taken up.

SOG Jammu busted a gang of interstate drug smugglers, recovers a huge quantity of Poppy Straw (Bhukki)
Continuing its drive against drug menace, SOG Jammu and District Police Samba achieved a major success when it thwarted the plot of drug traffickers smuggling huge consignments of Poppy Straw from Kashmir to other parts of the country. Two drug peddlers were arrested at Mansar Mohr Samba and the huge quantity of poppy straw was recovered from their possession. The accused have been identified as Gubaks Sing S/O Darshan Singh R/O Malerkote district Sanger Punjab and Santokh Sing S/O Barkha Singh R/O Miami Teshil Malerkote District Sangrur Punjab. Concerning this case, Case FIR No.252 under section 8/15 of the NDPS Act has been registered at P/S Samba. The whole operation was monitored closely by SSP SOG Sandeep Mehta-JKPS and supervised by SSP Samba Sh. Shakti Pathak-JKPS

Anantnag Police arrests drug peddler, psychotropic substance seized
Anantnag Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Anantnag arrested a drug peddler at a checkpoint and sized contraband substance from his possession. One person identified as Sheikh Mahid Ali resident of Kolkata has been arrested for drug supply offenses. Officers at the checkpoint established at Khanabal Anantnag have recovered 65 Gms of Charas from his possession. A case FIR No. 180/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in P/S Anantnag and an investigation has been taken up.

Crackdown on Drug Peddlers by Pulwama Police
To make society drug-free, a massive crackdown has been launched against drug peddlers by Pulwama police. During the current year, 19 cases have been registered under NDPS Act, in which 36 accused have been arrested. The recoveries made so far include 50 syringes, 58 bottles of codeine syrup, 1.56 KGs charas, 517 KGs poppy straw, Rs 17000/- Cash, 01 load carrier, and 01 Santro car that were being used for illicit traffic of drugs.

12 Foreign Students Evacuated.
On 10th August 2019, 12 foreign students including 2 female students of Islamic University Awantipora were evacuated after they were stuck in their hostels following the Government issued the advisory. The students were taken to the Airport in the departmental vehicle and free air tickets were arranged for them by J&k Police up to Delhi.

Three Missing Persons Traced and united with their Families
On 8th August 2019, the relatives of Mudasir Hamid S/o Abdul Hamid R/O Tral, Ilyas Ahmad Shah s/o Ghulam Nabi R/O Tral, and Ashiq Hussain Shah S/o Nazir Ahmad R/O Tral approached SSP Awantipora to seek help in tracing out the above-mentioned persons who had gone missing. Acting promptly, a massive search operation was launched as a result of which the three missing persons were recovered from Charter-e-Sharief. All the three had left their home with the intention of going to Yusmarg, however, due to restrictions in place, they were unable to reach their destination. The missing persons were united with their families. People of the area appreciated the prompt action by J&K Police.
